With the view of enhancing the economic living conditions of poor and downtrodden women community through providing alternative opportunities of employment generation, we have taken initiatives of running of production units of jute bags and jacket in Palwal, Haryana and Jacket in Moga, Punjab during the reporting year of 2015-16. These said units have been commenced with bank loan support from NABARD of respective states. The Palwal production unit is involved in Jute bags like purses, bottle covers, cane bags, cotton school bags etc. making by involving 22 women. Out of which ten are working at production centre while twelve women are working from their home. While in Moga production centre, fifteen women are working in production centre while ten are working from their home. The annual turnover of the Palwal production centre was Rs. 12,50,000 and Rs. 10, 00,000 of Moga centre.
The running of production centre was quite successful in terms of fulfilling the market demands of the market along with starting the process of repayment of loan taken from the NABARD. The market demand of the products was generated through participating in various national level fairs like SURAJKUND FAIR, Haryana and SARAS Fair, organized by Ministry of Rural Development, in Mumbai, Maharastra and fairs organized by Confederation of Indian Industry, Chandigarh. In addition, we were also successful to tap the bulk order from NABARD, Asian Paints (corporate sector), BIRD (A training institute) and other like-minded organizations like BADLAO FOUNDATION from Jharkhand
